Sanaa Mrad
Hello, everyone! My name is Sanaa Mrad, and I’m a proud first-year Syrian Canadian student. Over the past year, I had the privilege of serving as the “Undeclared Student Representative” with MUNSU. This role allowed me to build meaningful connections, support fellow students, and contribute to the campus community in a fulfilling way.
When I first discovered MUNSU, I immediately resonated with its mission and values. As I step into my second term as a Board Director, I’m excited to advocate as your HSS Representative. My priorities include championing initiatives like increased funding for MUN, promoting peace and justice—including a permanent ceasefire in Gaza—and continuing efforts to address systemic inequality.
My passion for advocacy stems from my upbringing in Syria, a country deeply impacted by years of civil war. These experiences have shaped my dedication to human rights, raising awareness, and creating a world where equity and compassion prevail.
In my free time, I love spending time with friends, tackling coursework, and admiring adorable cats. If there’s ever anything I can help you with, don’t hesitate to reach out at smmrad@mun.ca—I’m here for you!
Have an amazing day!
