SafeDrive is a free service offered for students by MUNSU, providing rides home from campus during the Fall and Winter semesters. It operates from 7pm to 12am, Sunday to Thursday, with extended hours during exam periods. The SafeDrive van leaves every hour on the hour from the base of the clocktower, just outside the Queen Elizabeth II Library.
Normally there is adequate space for all comers, however in the event there are more students waiting than the van will hold, transportation is provided according to drop-off location. The van will then return and immediately transport any students who were required to wait.
SafeDrive will normally service the areas bounded by Torbay Rd. to the east and The Village Mall to the west. If space/time permits, it is possible that SafeDrive will service areas beyond these boundaries, at the driver’s discretion. See below for a map of the approximate service area.

Developed by the MUN Students’ Union in 1993, WalkSafe is a service that enables students to actively foster a safe and supportive environment for their peers on campus. It is a student-run program that offers students, faculty, staff, and guests of the university accompaniment when walking around campus after dark. WalkSafe operates from 7 pm to 12 am, Sunday to Thursday.
Anybody wishing to have a WalkSafe Volunteer Walker accompany them to their on-campus destination may phone 864-6464 and a friendly Volunteer Dispatcher will have walkers meet you at your current destination.
WalkSafe is currently accepting volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering with WalkSafe, please fill out the form below or stop in to the MUNSU General office in UC-2000.
