WalkSafe

WalkSafe

Developed by MUN Students’ Union in 1993, WalkSafe is a service that enables students to actively foster a safe and supportive environment for their peers on campus. It is a student-run program that offers students, faculty, staff, and guests of the university accompaniment when walking around campus after dark. Operating within the perimeters of the St. John’s campus, WalkSafe is coupled with the SafeDrive service, which offers free rides home to students after dark.

Anybody wishing to have a WalkSafe Volunteer Walker accompany them to their on-campus destination may phone 864-3737 and a friendly Volunteer Dispatcher will have walkers meet you at your current destination.

If you are interested in becoming a WalkSafe volunteer and helping to take an active role in creating and maintaining a safe, supportive campus environment, contact the WalkSafe coordinators at walksafe@munsu.ca.
