SVB Coordinator

DEADLINE: Friday, March 16 by 5:00 PM 

overseeing the daily operations of the SVB including hiring, training, and supervising student staff and volunteer assistants; promoting the benefits of getting involved and volunteering; promoting and recruiting volunteers for University and MUNSU programs and events; establishing and maintaining ongoing relationships with campus student groups, with various community organizations, and with university departments; collecting
statistical data and preparing monthly reports; reporting on an on-going basis to the appropriate MUNSU and Student Experience Office personnel; performing other related administrative duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: committed to promoting volunteerism and leadership development; will demonstrate excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates must have an interest in student issues and demonstrate awareness of the barriers to involvement. The candidate should be able to work with minimal supervision, demonstrate initiative, and have experience supervising students.

ELIGIBILITY: The applicant must be a full-time or part-time undergraduate student in the 2018-2019 academic years. He/she must maintain a minimum 60% average and be available to work 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m, 42 weeks of the year. Successful candidates are expected to manage academic commitments and work hours to ensure the needs of both are met.

ETOCSL Awards Coordinator

The Memorial University of Newfoundland Students’ Union (MUNSU) is seeking a student to aid in the
planning and implementation of the 2018 MUNSU ETOCSL Awards. The ETOCSL Awards are the only
awards for faculty and staff at Memorial that are entirely student-run and intended to give students the
opportunity to recognize faculty and staff at Memorial University who have had a positive impact on the
lives of students. The 2017-2018 academic year would be the tenth year that ETOCSL awards have been
distributed, and there have been many very worthy recipients and candidates.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should meet the following criteria:
– Must be a member of the MUN Students’ Union (full- or part-time student);
– Experience and knowledge of the MUN Students’ Union;
– Excellent communication and organizational skills;
– Experience in planning and executing events;
– Ability to manage time, take initiative, and work independently as well as in a team;
– Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;
– Must be available for the position until April;

Hiring takes place annually before each Fall semester


The MUN Students’ Union is seeking a proactive person to fill a position with CUPE 4554 as ‘Receptionist’. This position is responsible for the day-to-day administrative functions of the general office of the Students’ Union. This includes directing inquiries at the front desk, handling correspondence and phone calls, assisting with the health & dental plan, taking space booking, and aiding other staff and MUNSU Directors in initiatives.

Contract duration: Temporary position until December 31, 2017

Start date: Immediately

Hours of work11:30 am – 4:30 pm
