MUNSU is a strong advocate for more sustainable practices among students, throughout the university community, and around the world. MUNSU representatives sit on the University Sustainability Committee and the Students’ Union is a member of the Students for Sustainability Coalition. The MUN Students’ Union works with members to promote sustainable initiatives on our campus and in our community, and to find ways for students to get involved through initiatives such as BikeShare and MUN Project Green.
As a result of the hard work of students, Memorial University signed a Bottled Water Free Pledge in 2009, committing to the systemic removal of bottled water from our campuses. Every winter semester MUNSU organizes Sustainability Week, working with the community to host a variety of activities to raise awareness about the importance of a sustainable campus and lifestyle and how we can achieve that. MUNSU is a member of the Students for Sustainability Coalition and advocates for more sustainable practices among students, throughout the university community and across the world.
